Due to coronavirus and the quarantine not only the teenagers but adults are using the social media platforms. In my opinion, instead of discussing the bad effects of the technology on the teenagers, we should think that how we can organize our lives with technology.
Everything has bad sides besides the good ones. Of course nothing is perfect, so first let’s talk about the bad effects of the technology among the teenagers. Some teenagers are only interested in social media, so they do not study for their lessons, do not do sports or do not socialize in real life. They only have friends in virtual life, which is really a bad thing. I think they should combine the technology and the real life. If they learn how to use technology well, there will not be that much bad sides.
As I said in the beginning, technology has changed our lives positively. After this quarantine finishes, we can continue to get education via social media platforms. We can learn and study from home and take exams in our schools. But the system should be improved. Also adults coordinate some congresses via social media. Instead of going abroad for participating in a congress, we all can access those activities from our homes. If we use social media efficiently, it can have lots of positive effects in our lives.
Everybody uses social media platforms to communicate and to socialize. Especially, during the pandemic outbreak teenagers continued to communicate via social media platforms. If there were not any of these platforms, they would not be able to socialize. One might think that these platforms also have bad effects, but a conscious teenager is able to use the technology positively. Technology has changed our lives positively when it is used consciously.
All in all, coronavirus has caused some problems, and we can all see the effects to the technology. But if we organize our lives connected to technology, we can live more comfortably. There may be some bad effects of social media on youth, but we must consider that technology has much more good effects in our lives.
