MY BUSINESS IDEA
I am going to set up a
company about “genetic design engineering”, which will be a new venture for me.
My company’s name will be “S.R.H. Holding Incorporation”. The name S.R.H. comes
from my name which is Suzan Rojin Hofstede.
One may ask the
meaning of “genetic design engineering”. I created this job in order to improve
any living organism which will be very useful for people.
Genetic design
engineer is a person with an education on medicine, genetics and engineering,
all at the same time. These engineers design a human being, an animal or a
plant for a special purpose. Then they determine the specific features for that
special purpose, and make a genetic plan. The engineers will write the
necessary codes themselves.
For instance, growing
special trees for an orchard in the North Pole. Imagine that people want to
build cities even in the North Pole which have all the facilities such as
restaurants, hotels, schools etc. When a lot of people live there, there will
be a need for lots of food including fresh fruit and vegetables. The cheapest
way to get them is to harvest in the North Pole. Everybody knows that a fruit
tree will not grow in the North Pole. In that case my company will consult a
genetic design engineer who will design a special fruit tree which can grow in
the North Pole. If there is a problem with space the engineers are able to
design a special fruit tree with different kinds of fruit on each branch.
In my company, we will
be able to create anything that people need. For example;

A bee which can produce big amounts of
honey of good quality in a quite short time,

A
special kind of tree which grows very fast and used in wood industry,
·
A coral reef which is able to survive
every temperature and can endure pollution,
·
A race horse which will participate in
races in a very hot country
·
Even a translator in all available
languages who can translate fast, correctly and accurately.
At first my company will start to improve the genetics
of plants. After a while the engineers will go on with animals. As they gain
experience, they will be able to design new genes for human beings.
At the beginning, 50 genetic design engineers and 10
managers are needed. After developing and gaining some experience, the number
of engineers and managers will be increased.
The genetic design engineering is a challenging and
exciting job which has no apparent boundaries. One can develop himself/herself
and his/her profession depending on his/her flair, capacity and talent.
By altering the genetics in a good way for a good
purpose, lots of things can be done more efficiently, quickly and easily. This
can lower the costs, and as a result of this more people can get access to
certain products and services. On long term the world will be a better place.

Working In This Company
The engineers who want to apply for this job should
have a university degree on medicine, genetics and engineering, all together.
They have to be hardworking, open-minded, precise, careful and creative. They
have to be able to come up with new ideas. They also should have the ability to
understand the wishes of the client, and to develop useful models with
technical skills. The engineers also must be practical, good at prioritizing
tasks, managing time, dealing with stress, managing risks, setting goals and
solving problems.

The managers who are going to work in this company
should have some skills and mindsets in order to succeed in their job. They
must be hardworking and careful as the engineers. They should be good at
interpersonal and written communication, dealing with stress, negotiation, problem

Human beings always want improvements
in their lives, and they do improve themselves. These improvements come from
their creativity. Especially nowadays, creativity has a big role in our jobs.
Unless you are creative, you will not be able to develop both yourself and the
world.
Being creative is important in every field. Even a student should be creative in order to be different from others and to be successful. Especially if you are a genetic design engineer you should be open-minded and be able to come up with new ideas.
In order to be creative, you should think a lot, read lots of books and watch lots of movies. Listen to everybody even they are younger than you. Even they might not have any knowledge about that topic, but they may look from a different perspective. If you do a brainstorm after that different perspective, you can come up with great ideas. These tips are not only for genetic design engineers, everybody can use these.
MANAGING TIME
The World is changing really fast
and we are trying to catch up with every moment. While living this fast, we may
have problems about managing time. After gaining some experience, my company
will have lots of clients and will have lots of projects to finish. At this
point, everybody should schedule their work. A to-do-list can save one’s time a
lot. Prioritizing tasks can be helpful. Being organized is a must not only for the
people who work in my company, but for everyone.
SETTING GOALS
All of us have some dreams, goals
and objectives. The aim is to achieve these goals. In my company, we will have
lots of objectives and tasks which we want to succeed in. If we want to achieve
our aims, we should know how to set goals.
In order to be successful at our plans, we should be rational. If your dream is unachievable, you both will not be happy and will not be able to succeed. Setting irrelevant goals will also not motivate you. Even you can be reluctant to work on your job or aim. Then you will not want to do anything related to your job and goal. For instance, if you are a lawyer and if you want to code programs you may not achieve your objective. Do not forget. Be simple and logical while setting goals. This will lead you to success everywhere.
I want to be a successful entrepreneur in the genetic design engineering field. I wish to accomplish this goal, so I should improve my current skills or acquire potential future skills. I examined my current skills profile against the skills I identified while researching Ren Zhengfei, who is the founder and the CEO of Huawei, and Lee Byung-chul who is the founder of Samsung. I decided to generate my own personal development plan in order to improve my current skills or acquire potential future skills.

innovations, I am searching every interesting topic, reading magazines,

and going to lots of congresses with my mom so as to learn new things about
her branch. |
