Procrastination is a habit that we all experience time to time. We all procrastinate some tasks, homework, projects or even our dreams. Since we started to work from home, we may not want to work or study. We cannot focus on our tasks because there are lots of things that we can be distracted. Also we all had an intense routine, and nowadays we realize that we are tired.
The reasons why we procrastinate are simple. We may think that the task is not urgent. It might be urgent, but we may be tired for that work. Sometimes we make unachievable routines, and when we cannot finish our tasks we can be stressed. Some people try to be perfect. When they try to do all the hard things, they cannot finish both the hard and the easy ones. All in all there can be lots of reasons, but we can avoid procrastinating with some simple solutions.
There are some solutions to avoid procrastinating. First of all you should write all the tasks that you are going to do. After writing, you should think about which ones are urgent and which ones are not. Then focus on the urgent ones, but first think that which are easy to finish. After these decisions you should decide which of the followings is the most efficient for you. You may either first start with the urgent and the easy ones or the urgent and hard ones.
Secondly, you should plan your day according to your all other tasks. For example, you should think about the time that you are going to spend with your family, the time for yourself like doing sports or reading something. Even preparing a meal takes some time. When you get tired you should take some breaks while working. The breaks can change from person to person. You can have a rest for ten minutes after working for an hour. You may work less than an hour if you are tired. These little breaks will increase your efficiency. If you think about those little but important details, you can plan your day more efficiently.
Thirdly, you should know about yourself. You should know the time that you work the most efficient. For instance, as a student I like studying for mathematics in the morning because I can concentrate on harder topics easier. Also I like reading when I am tired, so I read books in the evening. In order to be more efficient I plan my day like this. The better you know yourself, the more efficient you work.
In conclusion, everybody procrastinates sometimes. If we understand that why we procrastinate we can find a better solution. If we plan our day more realistically, we can finish each task on time. Plan your day and be efficient.
